PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC

TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 AS AMENDED BY THE ROAD TRAFFIC (TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS) ACT 1991

NOTICE is hereby given that the City of Doncaster Council intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991 because works are being or proposed to be executed on or near the road and the effect will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in that length of  the A614 Thorne Road at Blaxton in the City of Doncaster District as described in the Schedule to this notice on the dates and times referred to in the said Schedule.

Reason for closure: To ensure the safety of the public and the workforce whilst works for the provision of specialist carriageway surface dressing and subsequent road markings are undertaken.

NOTICE is also given that the alternative route for vehicles affected by the Order is via Mosham Road, Main Street, Doncaster Road, New Road, Cantley Lane Warning Tongue Roundabout, Cantley Lane, Cantley Lane Goodison Boulevard Roundabout, A638 Bawtry Road, Racecourse Roundabout, A18 Leger Way, Leger Way Armthorpe Road Roundabout, Sandall Park Roundabout, Thorne Road A18, Shaw Lane Roundabout, Thorne Road, West Moor Link Thorne Road Roundabout, Thorne Road Hatfield Lane Roundabout, High Street, Manor Road, Epworth Road, Stone Hill, A614 Thorne Road and vice versa.

The Proposed Order will continue in force up to and including the 31^st day of August 2025 or until the works which it is proposed to carry out in or near the said road have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

SCHEDULE

Location

A614 Thorne Road, Blaxton from its junction with B1396 Mosham Road for 3169m in a northerly direction (River Torne).

Dates and Times

07:00hrs 10th May 2025 until 19:00hrs 31st August 2025.

The road will be closed on up to 5 separate occasions, on weekends only with each occasion lasting no longer than 2 consecutive days.   This process is weather dependant and as such exact dates for each location cannot be given.
